Looks like the schedule is out for the Super Sprints in Victoria this weekend. Anyone want to take a shot at predicting the finals?

I would say it's going to be a hard guess, as there alot of new faces on the water, this season...This will be the time, to see what everyone is made of this time around. With saying that, i'm on a team, that just started this yr., but we have quite a few experienced paddlers, on board..I wish everyone luck, this sunday, and in future races.

So what happened?  Besides GD coming in first place??

We (Dragonauts) were neck-in-neck with the GD's in the final race when our steering oar rope broke about 50 metres short of the finish line and we lost control, ending up in 4th place.  As they say SH#T happens sometimes.  Our steersman made a very gallant effort to keep us on track, wacking his shins in the process.  We did manage to cross the finish line to roaring cheers from the crowds on the dock.

It was a great event!  It also was unfortunate about the last race....It was awesome at the middle, where I was watching, but, as was said, **** happens.  The Dragonauts are back in good form, at least!  Still, GD's are awesome.

I believe this event will grow and grow...first taste of how all do for the rest of the season?  By Nanaimo many teams will be on the way....by Victoria, many teams will be peaking.

As to the idiot "Guido" I suggest you check out the province.....atlases are common, or you could check Google Earth....sorry you do not know geography?....and Vancouver is not central...Alcan is but a training ground.

Here's some pics of what happened in the last moments of the final race.  GD's Lane 2, Dragonauts Lane 3 and PI Lane 4.

The race pictures have a real angle to them. GD's were ahead from the start. It was close but they were definitely ahead.
