June 10-11 - Portland Rose Festival DB Races - Sorry but registration is closed.  Uses large Taiwan flag catching boats.  Hugely expensive.

June 25 - Salem, OR DB Races - new, small event (2nd year) looking to grow.  Reg. deadline was May 15 but suspect they'd be flexible and let you in.  Pls see http://www.worldbeatfestival.org/dragon_boats.htm.  Use 6-16 boats.

July 4 - Tacoma, WA DB Races - see separate posting on this event. Use BUK boats.

July 15 - Kent, WA (just south of Seattle) 6th year.  Several Canadian teams have attended this event in the past, including FCRCC Women, FCRCC GrandDragons, etc.  For info, pls see www.seattledragonboatraces.com.  Use BUKs.

July 29-30 - Long Beach, CA.  Just south of Los Angeles.  Use China-built Hong Kong style boats.  See http://www.lbdragonboat.com/ for info.

Sept. 9-10 - Portland, OR - Sellwood Park just south of downtown Portland.  Not the same course as Rose Festival.  Uses 6-16 boats.  Should be 36-40 teams this year.  See http://www.dragonsports.org/regatta/2006/index.html for info. 500 meter races followed by 3 mile+ race among top teams.  This will be the third year for this 3 mile race.  Looking for an out of town team to try to win it for the first time.

Sept. 23-24 - San Francisco, CA - On Treasure Island between San Francisco and East Bay.  Uses BUK boats.  Very large, international festival.  For info see, http://www.sfdragonboat.com/  Who doesn't like San Francisco?  Great deals on excellent hotel and free shuttle to the race venue from the hotel.

There are probably others but these are the ones I'm aware of.  All of these events would love to have visiting Canadian teams.
