Greetings to everyone on Dragon Boat West. I am an experienced steersperson who has taken a year off from paddling for personal reasons, and i'm now looking to get back in the boat and meet some new folks. I've sterned the Alcan, Victoria and Kelowna festivals 2002-2004 as well as local races. I'm also proud to say I have never allowed a collision with another boat, on or off the race course. My focus is on safety, control of the boat, and traveling a straight line from A to B.

That's enough tempting fate though, because I am rusty! I'm looking for a fun, mixed rec team preferably, but i'll steer anything for anyone, dragonboat or outrigger. Also, I am cheap - I will steer for beer. I will steer if your regular steersperson can't make it. I will even steer a freakin Gemini if you want.

So, if anyone needs someone to steer something here on Southern Vancouver Island, feel free to drop me a line!

Thanks for the invite, couldn't make it Monday but was intending to come down Thursday (tomorrow). Just to confirm, GRPC @ 7:00, in front of door to kayak center (never noticed that door before but i'm sure I can figure it out). I'll be prepared to paddle or steer, whatever you need, and i'll be wearing a yellow life jacket AND a yellow hat - NOT because that looks cool but so that if you see some confused guy in yellow walking around you'll know i'm looking for Team Phoenix.
