Also.. it's the same day/weekend as the Richmond and Vernon festivals.
What's up with that..

I know i'll be encouraging my teammates to choose harrison over richmond though..

Time I piped up.......what are we teaching the young and the rest of this world?
That's it ok to drink and then drive?

What about just racing damn hard and then drinking milk?

So Guido, since you piped up -  who said anything about driving??  Not everyone in the beer garden will be drinking (some of us can be responsible at times, you know).

I guess it's safe to assume that you will never be spotted with a brewsky in your hand at the end of a long day of racing !   Laughing

A lot of thought has gone into getting a beer garden on the lake shore. Unfortunitly the village has said no.
So we asked about renting the Community Hall on the main drag in front of the lake for a private paddles race reveiw and volinteers appreciation get together.
We are pleased to anounce that we were granted use of the hall.
There will be beverages served for your enjoyment well you watch the races you were just in.
Plans are in the final stages and we'll be e mailing them out to registered teams a.s.a.p.

Last year we had a race at the end of the regatta. A $200.00 discount on this years entrance fee was awarded to the team with the fastest time.
We've decided to hold a new race with the same prize for first place.
This race is brand new and has never been done before.
All teams will have a equal chance to win weather Womens, Mixed, Cancer survivors or Specailty teams.
Curious yet?
Plan to attend and see what we've dreamed up for this year.
All teams registered and paided for will receive a race rules and diagram of this years "Survivor Challange  race"

Hello All;

Thank you for your registrations and payments for the Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Festival July 22nd in Harrision Hot Springs, BC. We are very excited at the amount of registrations that have come in to date! If you know teams that are wishing to register for our festival, please advise them to register today as to we are booking up very fast this year. ONLY ONE MORE DAY to get in on the early bird registration special!

We would like to clarify that EVERY TEAM is invited to enter the Survivor Challenge race. It is NOT a breast cancer survivor race, it is a “Survivor” race as in the TV show that everyone raves about! We are also inviting everyone to enter into the Mizz Dragon Boat contest and would love a team photo along with your team bio. Please email the team photos to [email protected].

Thanks again and if you have any questions or comments please contact either myself, Angie Peters or Manfred Preuss the FVDBC President at

604 792-9252 or [email protected]

Paddles Up!

Has the "Earlybird" deadline changed? not May 15th any longer?
