Anyone know of a masters team practicing in the lower mainland that might be recruiting. If not, any emails or websites will do just so I can take a look for a friend.

thanks.

Never give a match up halfway through. Never say that you do not feel up to it, that your condition is bad, and throw in the towel. Fight to the very end, always looking for your chance to break through.

deeLo, is there a reason why your friend is looking to paddle for a Masters team? I'm just asking because by definition a Masters team is comprised of paddlers ages 40 and up. If your friend wants to paddle on a Masters team bound for the World Club Crews in Toronto, then the only choices are Pacific Reach and maybe the Roli Masters. Keep in mind that these teams need to retain a large portion of their team that paddled in the World Club Crew Qualifier last year, so there may not be any available spots available.

Pacific Reach had a posting awhile ago about recruiting for their team, but it may not be for their Masters crew. It doesn't hurt to ask...The contact for them would be [email protected] or call Rob Varnel at (604)220-2236.

The Roli Masters team is coached by Jackie Webber, a member of Waters Edge and is the Dragon Zone coordinator. I'm not sure if she's the best person to contact regarding the Roli Masters but she should be reached at (604) 657-7505 and [email protected].

If you friend is just looking for a team of paddlers in the more mature age range, there are lots of teams out there. Alpha, TD Lightning, Specialty Subaru, among others, are all in the late-20s to 40+ age range.

If your friend is in the 55 to 78 age range, then there's the FCRCC Grandragons. They have a wide range of teams for various levels of paddling ability.

Can you provide more detail in what your friend is looking for?

Thanks for all the information.

Yes, a masters team is what my friend is looking for. She is above the age of 40, I'm sure (I haven't asked). The thing is that she in inexperienced and probably looking for a rec team.
