I'm currently seeking a co-coach for the 2006 season. The goal is to develop a new dragon boat coach while sharing the coaching duties.

Experience in paddling and an interest in coaching are required. Previous coaching experience may be an asset but is not necessary.

Practice times are Wednesdays at 7:30 and Saturdays at 10:00, switching to Mondays and Wednesdays after Alcan so summer weekends are free. This is a paying opportunity and an excellent chance to work with a veteran coach.

Confidential responses can be sent to me.

There's been a few questions so I thought I'd clarify.

I've coached this team for the last two seasons and would like to be involved in coaching them again. I thought that bringing in a new perspective would be valuable so that's one reason that I want to co-coach.

I've also been thinking, and other people have suggested, that I mentor new coaches.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to do both. I know that my first year coaching I actually started by co-coaching with someone experienced and I learned a lot. After that first year I had more confidence to do it solo.

There you have it.

Any other questions? Comments?

Over the next couple weeks I'll be meeting with those that are interested in this opportunity. If you've contacted me previously please contact me again to confirm your interest. If you're interested and haven't contacted me yet do so by February 12.
