Also need to factor in the turnover factor after Alcan as most of the teams are not pure after Alcan (except for Pac Reach)"

Now I understand.....after Alcan teams change?

I may not be a major paddler, on a major team, but I paddle with my team...and have done for over three years.

Gee, are you telling me that Vancouver teams are just transient?

I just want to understand?

If I did not know better I would think you are trying to cause a controvesy here woody  Shocked . So just to clear it up for you...

A lot of teams do not travel but instead stay close to home.  Many paddlers want to experience other festivals etc but also enjoy the team they are on so they will join another team (who may be missing some paddlers since not all paddlers can afford the time or money to go to an out of town festival) for an out of town festival.  There are also many DB clubs that have more than one team so the DB club combines teams together for out of town festivals.  For example, Alpha merges their two teams together for some out of town festivals, so in the rankings which Alpha team gets the points?  Roli, Synergy, Subaru (minus the dog) are the same way.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, maybe you should try paddling on another team for an out of town festival, expand your horizons, meet new people, learn new paddling techniques  Wink .  Spice up your life, a life with no spice is just plain.  If you haven't tried it you may be missing out on something.

Chaos, how do you decide which DB club team gets the points when it is a merged team (if you know it was a merged team)?

My apologies.  In retrospect my comments/questions were somewhat less than bright.  I really don't know what I was thinking....call it a "senior's moment"?  Embarassed

Woodsman,

It was a valid question, I am sure others were thinking the same as you so the question needed to be asked.  Asking the question clears up any misconceptions (hopefully my answer cleared up things).

Don't take offence to any of my comments as we are all here to have some fun and exchange ideas.
