lol, yeah I think it is......

I spared on a team that was soo short and they weren't sure if they could get in the festival or not.....They spent a few days before the roster had to be in looking for paddlers just so that they could get in the festival

That is awesome that you guys got 2nd in the A division with just 16 paddlers, congrats....
You guys beat the team I spared on in the Pearl Semi B......

Ha!  I need someone to babysit my digital camera while I'm racing...I had to resort to my film camera this weekend as I couldn't talk anyone into the babysitting gig... Wink  How do you get to be important enough to go out on a chase boat?!?  My telephoto isn't long enough to do any good from shore....

Just luck with the coach boat I guess. it never hurts to ask them if you can come on! The Island championships are in the gorge so you can get some smoking shots from shore anyways. I get the chance to sit out a bit so I am my own camera baby sitter! Besides, they have a Kicka$$ beer tent afterwards. The GO people can really throw a party!

Thats August 6th?  Oooh, I know where I want to be that Saturday!  And we're not racing (doing the next weekend instead); so I won't even need a camera sitter...

We sure are...but I know we have more than enough paddlers; it being our own race and all.  I was under the impression that Blu By U was coming up?  No?  Anyhow, I'll see what I can find out about other teams for you Smile

Yup, Blu is going.........

But there are so many paddlers that it kinda rotates. Smile

LOL, if you said that your team wasn't going, i'd have been shocked!

So yeah, if you hear of anything, let me know!

The Gorge Festival is always a blast and there is usually a kick ass dance after, so all you up Island teams should plan to stick around.  If you want to farm yourself out to another team I would call the GRPC and let them know that you are available.
See you all there!!!!

Anyone interested in re-visiting the platinum "A" final race in Nanaimo can view a video clip of the race at:

http://members.shaw.ca/xtremereach/festivals2005.html#NANAIMO

This clip was taken by our former coach Chuck Wood so it does tend to focus on our team Xtreme Reach, however, it does illustrate how much of a nail biter that final race was.  Congratulations to all teams who competed in Nanaimo!

Does anyone have pictures of Platinum B race finals?  Unfortunatly our person doing the video got a little excited, and was waving the camera around while cheering for us.
