so.. do you get them? you know, the sore you get from a long practice or racing, where one side of your ass (paddle side) is ripped to shreds, leaving a nice big sore that stings like a bitch when you shower? what's the best oitment to use?

yes a butt pad would help, but it makes you look like a sissy.. hehe jk! it's more manly to scream like a little girl in the shower!  Crying Smiley

My butt's pretty sore too after practice. Deep, gentle butt massages by the significant other works wonders!   Wink Embarassed  Laughing Silenced

i have no ointment but here are a few preventative measures you can take:

1) bandage up the "sensitive" area. that way (1) no one will see the padding and (2) no wounds! use guaze.

2) wear "reinforced" paddling pants/shorts. i know ppl who wear 'em and seems to work for them

of course, you can always "take it like a man/woman."  what's dragonboating w/o the battle scars?  Very Happy

Never give a match up halfway through. Never say that you do not feel up to it, that your condition is bad, and throw in the towel. Fight to the very end, always looking for your chance to break through.

Try the Burn Water Turtle butt shorts or just use cycling shorts, that way you stay protected and no one really sees them, so you don't risk looking like a sissy!
If you do have a sore, use the adhesive bandages from Band-Aid-they cover the entire wound, form a protective white goo on the open wound and last for a week!

oh yeah village elder, it's the material of your shorts sometimes. the ones with mesh inside are the worst! you wear boxers when you paddle? don't they get all soggy and give you shrinkage? lol

hmm.. good idea! but i don't think cycling shorts have the padding in the right places. will check out burn water... if they ever come to the east coast. last time i saw them was 2 years ago! oh wait.. website... Razz

I would recommend only dating within the boat........or buying a special bandaid called "Advanced Healing" by Johnson and Johnson. Now if they would only give my team their sponsorship!!!!
