Alcan Team Rankings..

Any idea how they will rank the teams for Alcan. Do any of the current Regatta results come in to play? Based upon info provided to me , there are 18 heats in the first round, In which 27 comp teams from last years will be divided amoung them (thus some heats will have more than 1 comp team in their heat)
Thoughts?

If you mean determining what team races in what heat and lane... There is a board that takes a look at the teams entered and ranks them based on past performances. I think there is a lot of "human" factor because placement in races doesn't always represent the actual strength of the team. In Alcan, teams are then placed in their heats with lane 5 for the top team in a heat, then 6 then 4, then 7, then 3, then 8, then 2, then 9, and finally 1 (or something like that).
