Just agreeing that the vests are a good idea.

Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Steering is super tough, and it's so easy to go off course and hurt people by accident. The coach official guys on the boats (if they decide to do their job) really can help the newbs during a race to keep everyone safe.

just an aside, i've been steering for 2 years now, but didn't get my acreditation done until this year.  how is a person designated experienced or not?  i know people who have been driving for years and are still horrible drivers.   this is a very tough subject to keep everyone happy on, and i don't envy those whose job it is to decide on what to do.

Never give a match up halfway through. Never say that you do not feel up to it, that your condition is bad, and throw in the towel. Fight to the very end, always looking for your chance to break through.
