The RACE GRID for the Sea Vancouver dragon boat regatta is available here

www.adbf.com, Race Info Docs, Sea Vancouver 2005).
1000m races are first, then 250m (changed from 200m) and then 500m. Advancements are based on your placement in each race, but overall winner is determined by points. The awarding of the entry into the 2006 Alcan DB Festival will be to the top team based on points earned on Saturday. Points are awarded as follows: 4 points for a 1st place finish, 3 points for a 2nd place finish, 2 points for a 3rd place finish, 1 point for a 4th place finish. In the event that more than one team is tied for first place (I.e. same number of points), one or more tiebreaker races will be held. The tiebreaker races will be as follows:
Less than 4 teams with the same number of points, one tiebreaker race (500m) with the winner of this race declared the top team.
Between 4 and 8 teams with the same number of points, 2 semi races (250m) with the top 2 teams from each race advancing to a final race (500m). The winner of the final race will be declared the top team.
More than 8 teams with the same number of points, 3 semi races (250m) with the top team from each race advancing to a final race (500m). The winner of the final race will be declared the top team.
RACE PACKAGES are available for pick up from Dragon Zone at the following times:
Tuesday night 5:30-8:30pm (short notice, I know) Wednesday night 5:30-9:00pm Saturday morning from 7:45am-9:00am (you should be able to access Dragon Zone without a wristband, but not the rest of the site) The race package consists of 27 wristbands and 1 team parking pass (see previous email re: where to park). I've been told these are 3 day general admission wristbands (although SeaVan is a 4 day event). Here's what the wristbands are good for (according to the Sea Vancouver website):
General Admission Wristband
General Admission Wristbands allow the guest to take part in all Sea Vancouver events during regular Festival hours (11 am to 7 pm, July 7 to 10).
Included in General Admission is access to two stages of entertainment, race action, art and craft displays and exhibitions, participatory nautical and historical displays, on-water activities such as kayaking and sailing, films, children's parade, hands-on craft workshops and lots more.
Ship viewing (not boarding) is available at most sites during the Festival.
Sunday event is still not finalized - watch for Sea Van part 3

See you all on Saturday!
