Anyone know how the competition in San Fran is like? Anyone care to throw in some predictions? Guido, Imposter? Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the teams down south of the 49 so I can't really comment.
I'm expecting Wasabi, BAD, Dragon Warriors and LARD to be some good competition since they were pretty stong in either Alcan and Victoria this year with a travelling team. Since this is closer to home for them, they should be even better...
I'd love to see a race that has Roli, BAD and Boston Dragon Boat in the same heat just so they can try to top their New York collision.
Any thoughts from our US brethen? psynch? Hans?

Hey Chaos,
Any of those West Coast teams you named should smoke, based on what I hear as to how they typically perform in general.
I would be keen if somehow Hans could make the out-of-town division's first heat involve Dragon Boat Club of Boston and BAD and Roli. Better yet, stick that heat off the beach that's down the road from Lake Merced. We'll see if we can paddle a straight line without re-living Liberty flashbacks.
I think my club's close to having a full team out there for the first time in 3 years. At a minimal, we'll see what our skills are like against the West Coast. At best, maybe we can grab hardware which is generally difficult for us to come by.
One month left.....

HI All,
Well fortunately we have pretty mellow water conditions given that our race is in a a lake and all. So even if we do end up with a Liberty crash reunion heat, I think the paddlers and buk boats will be ok (knocking on wood as this is said).
As for the predictions... since I'm in charge o the seeding and race schedule, it is probably best for me to leave posted predictions to the rest o the knowledgable and gambling crowd. If Chaos thinks historic performance is a good indicator, he might also add San Diego to his list. Also it is always great to have some East Coast and Canadian representation to throw some fun dark horses in the mix and on race day you never know how it will end up! Welp that is probably about all I ought to say. I'll keep you posted once the race results are available.
Happy paddling all !

1. San Diego
2. Dragon Warriors
3. Wasabi
4. Jetstart
5. BAD
6. Roli
I didn't see that Jetstart was coming. They have been doing well this year. Roli should round out the A final.
Unfortunately, the timing conflicts with GWN in TO and the Nationals in Montreal to get some of the better Canadian teams to travel to SF this year.

Hey Lethal...
We are working on setting up a beer garden as we speak !!
As for Roli and Jetstart, they are always tough crews and I'm looking forward to putting paddle to the water for some great racing... now if I could just get away from this organizing stuff to practice !
Cheers All,
Hans

While it may not be the sweet Sleeman's that I so love, there's always a party when the Absolute Dragons are in town! Come say hi if you're visiting from up north
