Ok... here's the list of teams taking part in the FCRCC Regatta...
    TD Lightning
    Roli Rebels
    Pacific Reach Echo
    Nokia Dragons R.O.E.
    Team Ruckus
    Nokia Team Ultimate
    Fresh Off The Dragon Boat
    Kitsilano Water Demons
    Just Dragon Along
    M Power
    Speciality Subaru-Legacy
    The Eh Team
    Waverunners
    Team United
    Pacific Reach
    Nothin Dragons
    Burnaby Tsunami
    FC Grandragons
    Alpha Red
    Splash Test Dragons
    Nusa'Lon Dragons
    Speciality Subaru-Outback
    Roli Dragons
    Saggin Dragons
    Eric Hamber
    BC Hydro Power Smart
    Scotiabank Dragons
    FC Great Grandragons
    Eye of the Dragon
    X-Calibre
    Alpha Blue
FC Grandragons Too[/list:u]Seems to be a pretty balances field. Anyone want to give their predictions?

A large number of the top tiered teams from last year are in this, but I'm not really confident in saying if they will be top tiered this year since a large number of the team's rosters were decimated and were replaced with new paddlers from other teams.  I wonder how that would affect team chemistry...

It also should be interesting to see how Pac Reach will do since they are probably the only team that has been practicing intensely year round.

I'm actually interested in how Just Dragon Along will do against Eric Hamber since Hamber is pretty much the measuring stick for high school teams from Vancouver. Over the years, it's been the Eagles coming in first.. the American juniors in second and Hamber in third...

This is only a small sample (3) of comp A teams here, but the overall grid has solid depth to it.

Pacific Reach and Specialty Subaru by rights should be on top of this early competition.  Both of their A teams do 3x/week solid. P.Reach is a proven commodity, S.Subaru's A team is also the best of what was two seperate, very good & solid teams.  Can't think of a better way to get instant speed.  Their B team should be very fast too.

I'm interested in seeing how United, Scotia, and Roli/Alpha/Pac Reach/Subaru's B team will fare.

Rooting for Nusa'Lon Dragons, whoever the heck they are, just b/c their name is cool.

Waverunners, would be nice to see them up in the standings.  They've been around for so long, they deserve a good result by now.

All teams go through changes, its the nature of this sport.

Can't really rank the Specialty Subaru teams yet ... rosters have not been finalized, the teams will be mixed up this weekend.   Also, we have TCC Carib paddlers joining us for the regatta.

4 of us were sent the list of teams participating and what division they were going to participate in C=competitive and R=recreational.   We were told to rank them and then averages were taken and the race grid was formulated.  These were the rankings I came up with......please don't panic about what you see below as I said these were the rankings I submitted.  I have not seen all of these teams on the water...though I do know who is coaching a majority of these teams and have seen the composition of 90% of them....

The Las Vegas odds haven't come out yet......I was told they'd be out within the next 24 hours or so.  Lotto BC is also putting out the lottery for this event.....thanks to Brian Burke.  I guess we'll see how I did on the rankings come Sunday evening.......anyone want to put a wager on Kits Water Demons.....Vegas is giving 1,453 to 1 odds.

Wow.  You ranked Fodb ahead of Roli?   (I Pray!) If that comes true, I have a date with a plastic garbage bag this weekend.

The scene: Kelowna 2003
Gman - If your team beats us, we're going to put you in a bag and kick it!

And after the final race on the way back to the docks:
Gman - Ok!  We're putting the bag away!   rofl

These are the rankings I had seeded for that list.

Pacific Reach
Alpha Red
Roli Dragons
Speciality Subaru-Legacy
Fresh Off The Dragon Boat
Scotiabank Dragons
Nusa'Lon Dragons
Pacific Reach Echo
Alpha Blue
Speciality Subaru-Outback
BC Hydro Power Smart Dragons
Team United
TD Lighning
M Power
Roli Rebels
Team Ruckus
Eric Hamber
Burnaby Tsunami
Just Dragon Along
Nokia Dragons
FC Granddragons
X-Calibre
Splash Test Dragons
Eye of the Dragon
Nokia Team Ultimate
Kitsilano Water Demons
Waverunners
Saggin Dragons
The Eh Team
FC Granddragons Too
FC Great Granddragons

I've seen roughly less than half of the teams here on the water so I'm sure Guido's seedings are much more accurate.  Though one team I had to rank based solely on the fact that they're always strutting around the docks without their shirts on.     Thinking

At the time I didn't know who Nusa'Lon was, but since they specified Comp, I just stuck them up there.

Alpha I ranked up there based on last year's results only, though I understand they had a big shake up this year?  Whatever the case, they still have top-notch coaching, so even if they have a bad Regatta, they'll be there for the Big One for sure.

Even with these rankings, my money for the 1.2.3. finish (Top Division) will be on:
1. Pacific Reach
2. Scotiabank
3. Specialty Subaru

I think it's safe to say that the Nusa'Lon Dragons are not a comp. team. They probably entered in the wrong category by mistake..... i could be wrong though.
