Snapdragons is looking for paddlers for the 2019 season!
About usWe're a women's team of all ages. We love to paddle but also make time for fun. How do pub nights, dancing, karaoke and wine tastings sound? We won first place in Women's Diamond division at Penticton in 2018 and often finish strong in a Women's rec B category. We won 2nd place in the Tim Horton's Provincial Race series for our total efforts throughout the entire season.
PracticesWhen: every Tuesday. Warm up 5:30pm, on the water approximately 6-7pm
Where: Creekside Community Centre in Olympic Village
Start: Our first practice is scheduled for March 12
End: Our last event is Penticton dragonboat festival Sept 7-8
RacesWe're aiming for 5-6 festivals this season including:
•500 M Championship June 8-9
•Concord Pacific Dragonboat festival June 21-23
•Steveston Dragonboat festival August 24
•Penticton Dragonboat festival September 7-8
•Plus 1-2 more events
ABOUT YOU!
You've got experience with Dragonboat or outrigger, OR a willingness to learn and practice hard.
You're generally active and willing to be coached.
You're available most Tuesday evenings and able to commit to the full season mid-March to early September
You're available for most festivals and can commit to showing up for the team
You want to have fun, hang out on the water with amazing women and win some bling!
