Celebrate 25 years of youth paddling in Vancouver with Eternal Dragon as we prepare to race at the 2014 Club Crew World Championships in Ravenna, Italy in September!
We invite all members of the dragon boating community and their friends and supporters, our alumni, and friends of the team to celebrate 25 years of our history with us on August 22nd at the VanDusen Gardens!
Eternal Dragon is among one of Canada's oldest dragon boat teams, and in our 25 years, we have always paddled with the goal of being a competitive junior team while making sure all paddlers, regardless of their personal or financial backgrounds, can try out the sport. This goal will be brought to new heights, as the team races for the first time in Europe at our 2nd Club Crew World Championships (after Hong Kong 2012)!
Enjoy live music, catered snacks, refreshments (for those who are over 19, our bartender for the evening hails from one of Vancouver's top restaurants!), paddling and trophy/jersey displays featuring items from our 25 year team history, meet and greets with former and current team members and members of the dragon boating community, silent auction with exclusive items from the team and our sponsors, and much more at our event! Paddlers from the 2014 Club Crew World Championship team will also be on hand to answer any questions about the team, and about their personal journey to reach the world championship stage.
Our promise to our paddlers is that if they deserve to race at the world level, the team will do its best to support their journey there regardless of finances. We hope you join us in helping 23 young and deserving paddlers reach their goal of paddling in Italy. If you are unable join us on the 22nd, we would truly appreciate your help by spreading the word about our fundraiser!
All proceeds go towards Eternal Dragon and its CCWC 2014 team. Paddles Up is presented by Oddball Workshop and False Creek Racing Canoe Club.
