DragonSports USA is thrilled to announce that online registration is officially open for the 2010 Portland Dragon Boat Race. This will be our fourth year at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon and we're looking forward to another fun-filled weekend of competitive dragon boat racing!
We'll be bringing back many of the things you love: the open division, the beer garden, the race around the bridges, the paddler's party, the sunshine, and the awesome race staff and volunteers! And we've been listening to your feedback from prior years! We're hoping to improve the race format by offering more qualifying races (both 250m and 500m) and five-boat heats. We used to guarantee four races in the past... look to race at least five times this year! Love the race around the bridges at the end? We're hoping to run two of them so that more teams can participate.
You know what else is cool? We're doing all of this at no additional cost to you. That's right... registration fees will be the same this year as they were last year. And a bargain at that!
Early Bird Registration before July 15th:

Visiting Teams $650.00
High School $300.00
After July 15th:
Local Teams $850.00
Visiting Teams $650.00
High School $400.00
Registration will close August 15th! Registration will also be capped at 80 teams so we can make sure that we can get all of this racing done in two days!
Online registration is now available at
www.portlanddragonboats.com. Teams are encouraged to register online, even if they plan to pay by check (an option to mail in payment is available with the online registration). If you absolutely can't figure out the online registration process (I'll give you a hint: yes, someone from your team has to create a user account), send me a message and I will either walk you through the process, or if all else fails, send you a PDF registration form.
For teams traveling to Portland, we should have information about sponsoring hotels soon. Check our website often for updated information!
