Basic Technique Overview (Kamini Jain)
In this classroom session, the mechanics of dragon boat technique will be discussed. Kamini will explain the stroke strived for in the FCRCC High Performance Dragon Boat Program, why she has chosen to emphasize certain movements over others and some of the challenges the commitment to this style creates.
Water Session (Kamini Jain and FCRCC High Performance Team)
In this on-water session, participants will have an opportunity to practice their classroom technique while paddling with some of FCRCC’s best dragon boat paddlers. The session will be coached by Kamini Jain who, along with the other FCRCC paddlers, will provide direct feedback on each participant’s technique. Each participant will also be videotaped for the subsequent video analysis session.
Video Analysis (Kamini Jain and FCRCC High Performance Team)
In these small group sessions, the coach will review and analyze the videotape of each paddler from the water session to provide constructive feedback. Kamini or one of the FCRCC paddlers will analyze each part of your stroke thoroughly, providing suggestions on what you are doing well, what could be improved and how you can make those improvements.
