Are there any safety guidelines for teams that extends their tents beyond their allocated area?
There were a few teams near the entrance and high traffic aisles that had canopies extended out of their tents, leaving barely enough space to walk between their extended tent and the army tent across from them.
During the morning, there was a first-aid cart with an injured paddler that spent some time manuevering around these extra tents to drive out of the paddlers' village.
In the afternoon, a senior paddler tripped over the one of the legs that was holding a canopy up. And one of these tents had all their foldable chairs out but it was nearly empty under their assigned army tent...!
I won't even make this a courtesy issue, but more of a safety hazard especially with the tents that are close to the entrance and high traffic areas.
The festival didn't give us much space this year (ok, maybe not JUST this year), and all assigned spaces are equally as tight. If you can fit 20 paddlers in a gemini, you can definitely live with sharing a tent for a weekend.
