like the chicken run group we assembled some girls from mana wahine are putting together a mixed rec crew to paddle at whistler
the reason for the $80 price tag to paddle on this "put together" team in whistler is the cost to enter a team this year.....$1635
20 x $80 = 1600
that is split between the people who want to race .... seems fair to us
if we end up with more coming in than we paid out to write the registration cheque then paddlers will get a rebate....or beer....whatever!
same goes for the chicken run but our 4 races that day will cost the crew $200...so $10 each!
either way ... we have a few seats for people who want to paddle for the fun of it....competitively recreational
and that costs money....don't forget to budget for drinks....beer, gin, mojitos....pick you poison...but you will pay!
