Hi everyone,

We still have a couple seats left for Paddlers of the Fifth Moon in Victoria.  We're down a couple guys for our first festival in May so it would be great to get a couple more guys but at the same time, I'm just looking for people that work hard, are fun to be around and reliably show up to practice!  Smile

We're on the water now until at least the Victoria festival in late August, until Mid sept for those that want to go to Portland.  We're a reasonably strong rec crew with a great group of people, no drama! Smile

Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7-8:30pm (meeting at 6:45pm for warm-up), we usually hit the pub after practice on Tuesdays.

We will definitely be doing the Gorge Sprints, Nanaimo, Vancouver Island (Gorge) and Victoria as a team but also the Navy Chicken Run, Richmond, Portland and Head of the Dragon, either as Fifth Moon or a mixed boat.

Other activities available to the team (and anyone else interested!) are outriggering, run groups and various other hiking, biking etc adventures.  All-around fitness and injury prevention are a focus on the team and most of us have a few cross-training activities on the go.  Training both sides is also a strong focus for injury prevention.

So if you're committed, want to work hard, improve your technique and get along with all your teammates, this may be the boat for you!  Experience is not necessary.

Anyway, if it sounds like something you're interested in and you'd be a good fit, shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and you can come check things out in the boat to see if it works for you.
