Hey there fellow dragonboaters...
White water racing on the Thompson River, September 27th..ANYONE GAME?
The event looks like not only a ton of fun but a great way to help a worthy cause and an excellent way to end the competitive season!
You only need 8 people to have your own team but there may be lots of people interested in putting together some fun teams!
Our website has more info and links to the official website and coordinators e-mail...check it out...I double dog dare you!

Looks like we have enough people for two crews but it would be great to get a couple more.  You don't need a group of 8, just send us an email and we've hook you up with a crew.

Well....
Super 'value for the money', great weather, awesome camping, wicked race, fabulous food, great party, and not 1 but 2 great bands for the paddlers party ......THIS EVENT WAS truly FANTASTIC !

I would encourage teams to put this on their list of races for next year...it was a great time both on and of the water.

Thanks to paddlers from Mana Wahine, the NAVY, PI, and Fire on Water there were 3 full crews of Dragonboaters (with a few friends thrown in).
The boys came 2nd overall a mere 9 seconds behind 1st in a time of 15:41...and Mana Wahine came 8th overall with 16:06.
28 teams in  the event, morning and afternoon groups with 2 heats in each session. The boys came first in our heat and the wahines came second in the same heat (second group in the morning).
The race portion was 5km on the craziest stretch of the 2 1/2 hour paddle.

Thanks to the paddlers who took the challenge and supported this event.
