Does anyone have information as to what the racing format will be this year?
The only details on the official website is the following:
Distance & Course Description: 500m and a few surprise races (Stay Tunned!!)
How many races are we guaranteed?
Kinda crazy that we've all paid our money (my team included) and we don't really know what we're paying for.
Not that I have doubts that that Waters Edge would not put on a great regatta, but knowing the racing format would be a great help as we try to work out how many races we can guarantee to our paddlers as we will have the luxury of having some spares at this regatta.
If there are going to be less than 3 races per team (excluding novelty races), it is likely that some members of my team who will be spared a race, may decide not to waste the gas driving out for the day to have only 2 meaningful races.

I was informed by a pretty reliable source that there will be 4 races.
The first heat will be a 200m course.
Times from both 1st and 2nd heat will be added to determine placement in the semis.
As for the novelty races, its anyone's guess.
Having obstacle courses and 1000m Guts and Glory like Whistler would be interesting.

I may as well get the ball rolling on this.
1st - Sudden Impact Black - clearly the class of the regatta
2nd to 6th - a dog fight between RGL United, Eye of the Dragon, Blu By U, Dragon Hearts Magnum & Superslim Phat Phish Racing.
Which ever of these 5 times parties the least on Friday night is my pick for 2nd overall.

Are you a guy? If so, the prospect of sun, sand and I daresay, bikinis might have something to do with it?
