For the NTT, FCRCC will be racing the mixed event against a Mayfair crew supplemented with paddlers from Halifax (Dragon Beasts). I think Kamini has the crew in excellent shape so it should be a great race.

The premier open category is not being contested. It looks like FCRCC will combine with some paddlers from Mayfair and Halifax for the Worlds next year.

From the East Coast forum at http://www.network54.com/Forum/135730/

Mayfair owned by FCRCC. A clean sweep by the west coast (200m and 500m). Congrats to False Creek.

We had two great races Colossus.

We would of liked to have you there.  We beat East mixed in the 200m by .8 seconds.  We had a time of 44ish seconds.  We beat them in the 500m by about 2 benches?  We had a time of 1:53ish.

It was nice of Dave Russel to join us. Chad also came for a visit. Don was also there.  They gave us a mental boost.

We had the best starts I ever felt on the mixed crew, with great transitions.  In the 200 we got the lead after the transition and pretty much kept the same lead for the race, they dropped back a little in the last 50m.

In the 500m we had a even better start than the 200. We had a jump on them in the fist 5 strokes.  After the transition I could see the drummer out of the corner of my eye.  (I was in seat 8)  We went so hard that we were dead by the 250 mark and were just trying to hang on.  East mixed got about 4 more benches in that time...but it was too little too late.

I am home now, but I hope the team continues to have great races in National Club Crews.  I wish I was there.

Wow, thats awesome!  Happy to hear that, you guys must have been estatic afterwards!
Hopefully, I'll be able to use this news to my advantage, as leverage to get sent back to lower mainland-ish area, so I can train and represent myself well in some time trials for next year.  I know my general fitness level is up, but I haven't really done much in a boat since coming back from Australia.  Confused

How was the east team?  did they take the loss in stride?  who was it made up of?

Congrats to FCRCC for getting gold in the 500m at the Nationals!
