Vancouver, B.C. - Veteran Vancouver boat-builder and former paddler Vincent Lo will launch his latest dragon boat on June 15 for this year's Alcan Dragon Boat Festival.

Launch of 616 dragon boat

Launch ramp at Vanier Park - north of Bard on the Beach tent

Who:
Vincent Lo, builder of over 80 dragon boats

When:
Thursday, June 15 - 2 pm

hm..... why didnt they just launch it one day later so that way its the official start of alcan and also b/c its 6/16.  =)

I am one of the volunteers and you wouldn't believe the amount of work needed to be carried out on "opening" day each year. I wouldn't want to see the launch on such a busy day.

There is a great photo of the new orange boat with Westend in the background in today's 24-HOURS magazine.
