The organizers put the inexperienced teams against each other, not against the experienced teams, so the races are close. Nobody gets crushed. There's enough experienced crews that enter to make a race of it. This year TD did well in all their races but that's not been the case in previous years (except in the fundraising, where they've done well every year).

All this event needs is more teams, more new people to come and try paddling.

This is good for dragon boating, it's a fun entry-level event for people to lose their virginity.  We always need new people.
