The reason why we are being kicked out of Plaza of Nations is because Concord Pacific which owns that land (the big parking lot where the team tents are located) have submitted plans into the city because the want to rezone that parking lot and put in High Rises there.... They have approval for townhomes.  So I guess Concord Pacific said they didn't want anyone on that area.
So it looks like the move to Science world will be permanent.

I live in the apartments right along false creek (Marinaside Crescent)  and the strata council sent us all a letter informing us of the application for re-zoning submitted by Concord Pacific to the city.  That's how i know this.

Will False Creek be developed to support more watersports?  The Toronto Waterfront is undergoing a revitalization project.  It is getting recognition by both the Prime Minister and other political officials.

They also have recommendations for constructing dedicated dragon boat racing courses.

From what I hear and some site plans that I was given by the Strata that area from say area from Cambie Bridge to Science world will not be very water sport friendly, with the possible exception of the docks by Plaza Of Nations.

Concord Pacific is planning to develop the big parking lot between Cambie Bride and Plaza Of Nations and also the really big Parking lot between Plaza and Science world.  If I remember correctly their plans were to have 6 high rises and low level town homes there.

The parking lot beside Science World (south side by The ice Cream place) will be turned into a park i believe.  And the big area on the south end on Cambie Bridge where the volleyball courts are is going to be turned into the Olympic Villiage.

So based on these plans I don't see anything really happening.

So does that mean down the road we either look for a new venue for Alcan, or kiss goodbye to the festival for good? Thinking
