Hi everyone. My dragon boat team, the Starbucks Waverunners, is hosting the first ever Paddlers Party for the 500m Regatta on June 6 from 11:30am-6:30pm. Tickets are $20 and include:
- party entry
- access to the silent auction
- door prizes
- wrap or roti provided by local food truck The Reef (make this your lunch for the day or after race meal)
- beverage of choice (beer for those 19+)
Partial proceeds will go to
Paddling for Change, a nonprofit organization that supports local junior dragon boat teams get on the water. We have been supporting Paddling for Change since 2007, and are excited to continue our support through this event.
Things to do at the party:
- win awesome door prizes!
- play life-sized Jenga
- test your skill on the erg machine
- get a massage by students from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy of Utopia Academy (vcmt.ca) (by donation)
- bid on amazing items in the silent auction (see below)
- kidz korner, with activities to keep your kids entertained
- drink more beer! additional food and beer tickets will be available for purchase

Also, if a team does a
group buy of 15 tickets, you will get 5 extra beers free, plus an entry into a draw for a Drench personal fitness (getdrenched.ca) training session/boot camp class for the entire dragon boat team, a $400 value.
