Possibly a couple seats available in Victoria

We're in the process of sorting out numbers for our womens (Snappin' Dragons) and mixed (Paddlers of the Fifth Moon) dragon boat teams for the 2015 season and it's possible we could have a couple seats on either boat.
Both teams will start the first Tues in April and run to the middle of August. Cost is TBD but will likely be in the $200-250 range which covers practice time, all races and team shirts.
Both teams train on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the women out 530-7pm and mixed out 7-830pm.
Age range for the teams is generally 20-49 to avoid competing for recruitment with some of the fine 50+ boats locally training.
Both teams are competitively-minded rec crews meaning that paddlers are expected to show up consistently, push themselves and work hard in the boat but winning isn't the be all and end all. It's about seeing how well the crew can work together with everyone doing their part. We also try to keep things drama-free so if you have a penchant for nonsense and are not good at leaving baggage on shore, it's probably not the right fit for you!
There is a solid focus on technique and injury prevention and paddlers will train equally on both sides. The teams have an experienced coach with 13yrs of coaching experience.
No experience is necessary but you do need to have the right attitude and a base level of fitness to keep up with the boat. If you want to come check things out before the season starts, we're also training in the outrigger canoes before then so you're more than welcome to come join us. We also have a free run group on the go for anyone interested.
If you'd like more info or are interested, please let me know and I can keep you posted as we get more info on returning paddler numbers.
The womens team will be having an info meeting on Feb 24 and all interested women are invited to join us.

Hi guys,
It's now looking like we have 2, possibly 3 seats available on the womens side (Snappin' Dragons). At the moment Fifth Moon is full but we may be able to squeeze a couple bodies in as we sort out everyone's availability for the festivals.
Cost on the womens side is $200 plus shirt.
For info on either team, our outrigger group or our run group shoot me an email at kmilne at shaw.ca

We can still accommodate perhaps 2 girls on Snappin' Dragons and 2 guys on Fifth Moon to make sure we're fully covered for all festivals.
Both teams are having a pub night this Thurs Mar 26, the girls at 530 and mixed at 7pm.
If you're interested or would like more info, contact me at kmilne at shaw.ca.
