A great day of paddling. After a kind of grey AM the clouds melted away and blue sky's prevailed. All races went off on time or even ahead of schedule. Even the mens race went off without any major hitches. Its too bad we don't see more races have mens events. They are a ton of fun to paddle in and the specators seem to really enjoy them.

To top it all off a large amount, (I believe over $3000.00?? Maybe someone on here has the actual amount?) was raised for breast cancer research, For each level reached another volunteer sacrificed their hair. The last victim was a female Navy paddler who put on a brave face and went under the clippers. My hats off to all who contributed!

Over all a well run, good time!
