My name is Sylvia, I'm a paddler and the team manager for Red Fusion. This year I'm also participating in the 2011 Ride to Conquer Cancer for the very first time and I will be doing the Ride in honour of my mother, who passed away from breast cancer ten years ago (February 14, 2001). My riding team and I are holding raffles to help raise money for our cause and using dbwest to help spread the word. Here's a blurb I've cut and pasted from my email:
"The VANCOUVER CANUCKS remains as the top team in the NHL. With only 6 home games remaining as the regular season starts coming to an end, you have the chance to
WIN A PAIR OF TICKETS to the
March 14th game! Although the Canucks are pretty much guaranteed to be in the playoffs, what are your chances of getting your hands on playoff tickets? And even then those tickets will be expensive. Team No Surrender is giving you the opportunity to win tickets to watch the hottest team in action AND contribute to the quest to find a cure for cancer.
* Seats are in the upper bowl, center ice section, approximate value of $120.

For those that are interested, I realize it will be difficult to drop off raffle tickets in person so here are easy step-by-step instructions to take care of everything online (ah, the magic of the internet!):
1. Visit my personal page,
http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Vancouver2011?px=2628651&pg=personal&fr_id=1371, and make an online donation in the amount you'd like to pay for the tickets (again, $10 for one or $15 for three.. what a deal!).
2. In the 'Personal Notes' section on the second page of the donation form, please write RAFFLE TICKETS and leave your phone number & email.
3. We'll fill in the raffle ticket, scan your copy of the ticket stubs (all tickets are numbered), and email it to you using our riding team email (
[email protected]) for your reference.
4. If (when?) you win, I will contact you via both phone & email and arrange a time to drop off the game tickets!
