Banana Fusion is looking for a reliable steersperson because our current one is very inconsistent in showing up.
We are a Rec C team who is on the water Wednesdays 6:30 and Saturdays 10:30. You can come out to our practice at Dragonzone to see if you like the team. They're a friendly, energetic, and hardworking bunch with an average 18 paddlers attendance per practice. If it matters, we are ages 20-30 with experience of 0-1 year.
We are looking for someone reliable, who is a seasoned steers (or at least is confident in steering in a straight line) who will show up punctually to at least 1 practice per week. I'm not asking for much, but I need a break!
I am just tired of trying to steer, coach, call, videotape, use the stop watch, and use a separate GPS all at once. Another pair of hands would be greatly appreciated.
We offer food at regattas, and we prefer volunteers, but we may discuss non-monetary compensation for your time (6 pack of your favorite beer?). You do not have to steer for us at regattas if you have another team to steer for. But you can take some of our food to fuel up! And we don't just live on bananas.
