This weekend's 2nd Annual Kitimat Challenge is off to a get start. Being the Long Weekend (Canada Day), this race is being sponsored by Cathy Pacific, Day's Inn Vancouver Airport, Hawkair, Fun Sun Vacations and Elan Travel, which is being held in Kitimat BC .
We are at the wonderful Minette Bay Lodge (
www.minettebaylodge.com), which is located directly across from the race course. Dr. Howard and Ruth Mills, who own this lodge are wonderful host and the lodge is amazing. Ruth actually paddles on a team too...
This area is amazing place to race, because of the scenic beauty and vacation spot. There is exceptional catch and release fly fishing for steelhead, and Salmon; Grizzly Bear Viewing; Heli-hiking, glacier tours, kayaking and bird watching adventures and each tours in the great Bear Rainforest and Kilope, Natural Hot Springs.
With the long weekend and the beautiful area to relax, this is a MUST place to race at. The flight only is an 1.5 hours from Vancouver.
