one of our guys routinely likes to jump into the pure, clean waters of false creek to cool down during the summer. i don't know why no one else does though.

seriously though, when he comes back into the boat, he just hauls himself up and back inside. this is a BUK boat. if you're worried about tipping the whole boat over, have the opposite side leaning a bit (read: a BIT, not a lot cause the boat should be fairly stable; have everyone brace the boat with their paddles as well, just in case) to offset the weight transfer of hauling somone in if they can't get themselves in. having a coach boat for instances like this (cold weather/water practices) is a smart thing as well, as it allows a quick recovery and return to dry land for the fallen paddler.
