From the race grid, it looks like TD Lightning, JDA, and TDBA (from Tacoma?) will also be there.

I have a few photos...when I get the chance I'll post them.  I'm house sitting for the week, so I'm not at my home computer, but next time I go home I'll put up the pics.

if only i could steer....   Smak upside the head Doh!
great racing today everyone, lots of fun.  i'm glad we jumped straight into the final after our first mixed race (came in 2nd), cause the way i feel after 4 races, i don't think i could have survived steering another mixed race.  So much easier to paddle and set yourself into a pace/rhythm than to steer those tubs.

at least you didn't beach your team the way i did at the baton pick up.  it just wasn't the same without steamrolling another team's runner.  i'll do better next time.

yes i agree this was a pretty fun event.  it kind of reminds me of canoe versions of bumper cars.  maybe next year they could modify the course and include lighting the tiki torch lamps  Very Happy

Day of the Longboat was super fun this year.  Thank goodness for the good weather.

TDBA (Tacoma) braved the border crossing for the upteenth time and included paddlers from Scaly Justice and Gung Haggis Fat Choy.

Unfortunately some of our "runners" were rookies that were so excited they hopped out of the boats early into water over their heads.  Guess that can be called  "premature self-ejection."

Everybody had good fun.  It's great to welcome our Tacoma paddling friends and see friends on other teams.

I can't believe after steering for most of the year due to a skiing accident to my shoulder, that I actually paddled 4 races (Mixed and Mens).  8km is the equivalent distance of 16 500m dragon boat races.  That was crazy!
