Hello All,  I am simply posting to offer myself as a conduit for answers to questions regarding Dragon Boat Canada domestic and/or international issues.  Dragon Boat Canada is your official National Sport Organization.  Your web site is www.dragonboatcanada.ca .  I am not a paddler or coach so cannot answer technical questions about those roles.  I am a current DBC Board member who has been assisting in the management of the organization.  I also know a bit about IDBF standards for equipment like paddles and dragon boats.  Mike Kerkmann.

Mike is one of the owners of Great White North (GWN) who run the GWN DB races in Toronto (September).  GWN also is the distributor for the BuK boats in North America.  GWN rents out their boats throughout North America and run a DB camp in Florida during the spring sometime.

SO now you know who he is Wink

DBC owns no assets like boats or paddles nor do they have any paid professional staff.  For this reason, DBC has a long history of contracting  out its event rights to festival and commercial members.  This trend will likley continue.

DBC is an events rights holder for the National Club Crew Championships and National Team Trials.  Both the Vancouver and Toronto festival groups have hosted trials for IDBF Club Crew and World Championships.  This past month 22Dragons hosted the National Championships in Montreal on behalf of DBC.   This relationship with its commercial members permits DBC to collect membership revenue to manage its basic needs namely to provide organizational insurance and host its Annual General Meeting.
