This year's race site was moved slightly down river. Teams still had the river current to deal with which shows in the variation of race times throughout the day. The location was great for viewing an entire race from the start line all the way to the finish. There was also an increase in the number of teams from 24 last year to 42 this year.

In the Alcan festival, Scotia placed one spot higher than Acme in the Competitive B division by a margin of 3 seconds. This time, Acme comes out on top by 0.27 of a second.
