Ok, so I had a little too much time on my hands. Looking at the results I was curious to see where teams (local ie. Vancouver) practiced out of, and where they wound up finishing in Alcan.

Soo...looking at the results from Comp A down to Rec B here is how it broke down.

Comp A
FCRCC Mixed - FC
Pac Reach - FC
Subaru Legacy - DZ
FODB - DZ

Comp B
Success - FC
FC Women - FC
Pac Reach Echo - FC
Alpha Red - FC
Scotia - DC
Acme - FC

Comp C
Roli Dragons - FC
Eye of the Dragon - DZ
VO2 - DZ
Roli Rebels - FC

Rec A
Ruckus - DZ
Storm - DZ
BC Hydro - DZ
TD Lightning - FC
Alpha Blue - FC

Rec A Consol
Lotus Sport (Burnaby?) - Barnet
FC Grandragons - FC
VanCity Thunder - DZ
Drunk Drag Blue - DZ

Rec B
Swordfish - DCC?
LifeScan - DZ
Mercedes - FC

Rec B Consol
United - FC
Subaru Outback - DZ
Burnaby Tsunami - (I don't know)
TCC - DZ

So in total from FC 14, DZ 13, DCC 1, Barnet 1,  Other 1. Upon further break down of FC, and DZ

Teams in Comp
FC 9, DZ 5

Teams in Rec A-B
FC 5, DZ 8

Of course non of this really means anything but just something I thought was interesting.  I am not sure of where Swordfish, Lotus, or Burnaby practice out of. I hope I am guessing right.

Oh and just so people are not confused, FC = FCRCC, and DZ = Dragon Zone, DCC = Dragon Canoe Club.

Yeah that is so true! I think they only clean it once a year if that.  Then again the extra barnacles, and other stuff on the bottom provided pretty good resistance training.  I think Swordfish benefited from that, look how well they finished!  Very Happy

Heh..yah I remember coming in to practice one week and we'd notice that we were moving a lot faster...checked the bottom and found it was cleaned. Wink  Anyways, while I'm pretty happy with how we did, we did have pretty high hopes...we've had a pretty turbulent season but we'll try to learn from the experience and hopefully improve for next year.  Definately one of the things that we'll have to do is paddle out of a club that has a Gemini boat and do our recruitment and training earlier.

I'm pretty sure Lotus is out of Barnet Marine Park and Burnaby Tsunami is out of DragonZone.
