What keeps you coming back?  Or something that you really look forward to each practice or season?

This could be anything, off-boat stuff, certain training pieces, races, winning, losing, as much or as little as you like.

For me, I've got that competitive streak inside, so it's the challenge to improve myself.  I always want to do a little bit better each time and never seem to tire of it.  (I believe it might be a neurological psychosis, but hey, whatever works.)

I also love the people-side of it, the camaraderie and mutual respect you have with your teammates.

The minute before the start ,when the teams are lined up and your focusing in the boat and the adrenilin rush you get as they call the start to the race .AWESOME!!! I would also say just the chance to hang out w/ all my teammates on the 2 teams (serious partiers)

Oh........And my fiercly competitive side ,can you tell??? LOL Wink

I love the thrill of competition ... the exercise ... the "après-paddle" party every practice ... the friendships ... and the challenge of pushing myself.

love it all, awesome people, refreshing water (even tho its the dirtiest water around), crazy races and every dragonboat season brings a surprise...
also gotta love the team events, the grouse grind, the bbqs, the rollerblading.
