Post by: FCRCC on March 02, 2015, 01:47:42 PM
Hi Everyone,

FCRCC will be hosting a Marathon Canoe Clinic on April 11, 2015.  Here are the details.

Flying on Water.  Marathon Canoe 101.

During this 5hr session; participants will learn marathon canoe strokes, boat control (including leans), wash riding (drafting other boats) and race psychology.  Video review will round out the day.  More than a sport, marathon canoeing is a style of fitness where camaraderie is common place.  Imagine the feeling of flying on water while getting a fantastic workout. Marathon canoeing is a low-impact sport which will give your back, arms and abs the workout they are aching for.

You will be sore.  You will make friends.  You will get wet when learning (tipping not required).

Presenter:  Christoph Kesting, board member of the Ontario Marathon Canoe Racing Association, 9th place finisher in the 2014 Yukon River Quest (750 km race course).

Date:  April 11, 2015
Time:  10:00 am - 3:00 pm
