new rules for 2015 - a 'true' mixed team, 10 men & 10 women, previously 12 men - (& remember guys, historically dragon boat started off as a solely men's sport!) Splash Test Dragons is a mid to high level Rec adult dragon boat team has done very well with just up to 6men in our boat - we're ready to take it up a notch & want YOU, yes you men!, to add MORE to the team. Your sense of timing will benefit the team, a minimum level of fitness will benefit YOU - come out & TRY IT with "STD", you will not CATCH ANYTHING :shock: BUT FUN! :lol: No experience is necessary, we will coach you - trust me, with a bit of training, regular practices, we will be successful at the Regattas we have selected for 2015 season ... and have fun doing it :) The first three practices are on Sundays out of Granville Island, starting March 15th @ 9:45am - we'll add our second practice on Tuesdays, Mar 31st 6pm. email me, [email protected], & I'll put you in touch with our team manager who will give you further details (btw, our ages range from 22-55) Title: Re: "WHO ARE WE???..... The new ratio's are only currently for Nationals. There has been some rumors that festivals might adopt the new ratios for 2016, but as of now it has not been confirmed. We have a solid 12 core group of paddlers, plus drop-ins, and are looking for 8 more permanent team members - our season runs from now to the early July including the sprints, Dragon Zone Regatta, Rio Tinto Alcan Festival and Nanaimo (road trip!) - optional is Harrison DB festival, which is still to be confirmed. We have a doodle set up for practice schedule - email Pam at [email protected] to be connected with our team manager, confirm your seat or if you'd like to simply drop in to check it out :) paddles UP! |
