Title: 4th Annual Small Boat Dragon Boat Races (VCKC Guts 'n Glory) Post by: Ron Crabtree on January 25, 2015, 11:57:23 AM The 2015 event hopes to bring back the glory (& guts) of the 2012 & 2013 events.
Where: VCKC Club House on the Gorge west of Tillicum Bridge (355 Gorge Rd W., Victoria) What: Two different race types: 1. 2500-meter combined-time race in 10-paddler boats. (only one category, Mixed) In the morning each team will race a 1250 metre course with a buoy turn (out and back). In the afternoon, each team will race the same course in a different dragon boat. The two times will be combined to see who gets the glory and medals. 2. Sprints: 200-meter races in IDBF-certified 10-paddler boats. Results will be ranked by team category (Women's or Mixed) for awarding of medals. Cost: $210 per 10-paddler team (12 people when caller & stern included). Discount for early payment.
