People coming from Vancouver have a 1.5 to 2 hour commute so an early heat means a very early wakeup, or get accomodation there the night before. It would be nice in the future if we had the later heats and if the teams closer to Harrison would be so gracious as to take the earlier ones :)  Not expected, but would be nice.

Not sure if you'd be interested in considering it in the future.

I said “not expected but would be nice” and even put a smiley face in there :-) !  Not sure of your definition of whining lol.

When we decide which festivals to go to cost and travel factor into it. Harrison is always borderline because it can be one day but it’s a very long day, or else we get hotels and it then competes with other out of town festivals when we choose which to do. A later first heat would make it more attractive for Vancouver teams, that's a fact.

Alcan organizers try to get the Guts & Glory done in time for Vancouver Island teams to catch the ferry Sunday home night. Victoria organizers used to schedule Vancouver teams later Saturday morning so they could catch the first ferry and make it on time. Organizers look at these things.

An important distinction about the Harrison festival is that advancements are based on times not placement so it doesn’t matter who races who in each qualifying heat. It’s being organized by the Fraser Valley DB Club so Pirates, Mavericks, Thunderstrokers etc could take one for the team and take the first heats. Not sure if you'd be interested.
