Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: Bambi on May 06, 2013, 07:50:41 PM Oops..Sorry. Have added them now.
Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: mappingguy on May 06, 2013, 10:22:14 PM To get the ball rolling, here are my top 5 predictions;
1) CIBC Imperial Dragons If I'm watching the correct team Saturday mornings, they look good. Don't say I didn't warn you. 2) One West It's probably against my better judgement but I'm putting them in second position for a 200m race. 3) Gorging Dragons I'm sorry you had to wake up so early to catch the ferry to come in third spot..but i hope the weather's was nice. :P 4) FCRCC HP New crop of elite paddlers. They will need more time to gel. Correction: 5) FCRCC Senior A I think I had a brain freeze, not sure how I forgot about this team. J-Web has been working this team hard. Here are my other possible fifth place finishers; Ares: They are a fast sprint team. Masters of DZone: There was a lot of joking around about this "old" team but you can't replace experience down the stretch. Much respect. Also, angrygirl will keep them all in check if they start complaining about their sore backs and achy muscles from racing the previous weekend. Sudden Impact Black Haven't seen them this year but I heard they are working hard towards nationals. To all, have a great day of racing and go prove me wrong. The knockout is a fun race format. Also a quick note to all out of town teams..California, Arizona, Portland, etc...you guyz better bring it this year...the Creek is full of paddlers training for this year's nationals and worlds. Bring your best...it's not going to be easy at the big show in June. Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: SLMT on May 07, 2013, 06:17:27 AM I can confirm that DH Beat will only be entering one team.
Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: Bambi on May 08, 2013, 12:28:32 AM Thanks. We've updated the grid to reflect only one team's registration.

Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: vicpaddler on May 10, 2013, 12:05:47 PM Wow are there really 40 open teams? I've never seen that many Open boats out west before. Great sign. At the worlds the Open final is always the premier event. Perhaps we are starting to go that way in Canada??
Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: mandachan on May 10, 2013, 04:01:01 PM In this instance, Open is just Mixed... I think 99% of the teams named are all Mixed.
Women's is Women. It would be a very quick regatta if there were 40 open teams :shock: Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: mandachan on May 10, 2013, 04:10:05 PM My predictions for Final A
1) One West 2/3) CIBC Imperial Dragons / FCRCC (Godly crew vs Godly coach + semi-experienced crew... hmm) 4) Gorging Dragons 5/6) DHB / SIB (haven't seen SIB this year, but I have seen DHB paddle and they are damn speedy!) 7) Creakside Masters (can never write off the old folks... experience speaks volumes) Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: mappingguy on May 11, 2013, 11:08:45 AM I just found out FCRCC senior A is not racing in the knockout.
My original predictions stands....the beat will take fifth spot. Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: Bambi on May 12, 2013, 12:30:50 AM Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Knockout! See you next year! Title: Re: FCRCC Spring Knockout Post by: mandachan on May 13, 2013, 11:40:24 AM I want to give props to the Senior A/B/C teams who made this Knockout regatta the best organized FCRCC regatta in all my years of paddling in it. Everything was perfectly on time, all the volunteers were super helpful and friendly, and it was an enjoyable experience for my team.
It's even more awesome that most of the volunteer crew does not have any previous experience organizing a regatta! So thanks Sr teams for the weekend! 8)) |
