Title: Canada's Premier Open Team
Post by: Rob on April 21, 2013, 08:11:24 PM
I congratulate all the paddlers who made the team.  Great Job!

I can tell you that some great paddlers tried out and didn't make this crew, so it a great honor to be selected.  Everyone should be proud that went through the selection process.  If you know anyone on this list, please congratulate them, they worked hard, and will work hard in Hungry to represent us.

If only I was taller,  stronger,  had better endurance,  shaved off 1.2 minutes of my 3 minute erg time,  didn't watch so much YouTube,  didn't fbook so much,  quit my job to paddle 8 hours a day etc... ... it still would be tough to make this team.

Great job to all those who had the balls to try out and those who made it!

Special congrats to all the guyz who paddle on false creek....way to represent!

Go Team Canada!

Ditto, mappingguy.

If I was only 20 years younger, didn't have those pesky responsibilities . . .

Congrats to the West Coasters: Bill McLeod (Pemberton), Gerrisen Tang (One West), Graham Smith (False Creek), Tony Chandra (One West), Shane Beaton (One West), Norman Tan (False Creek), Stephano Chang (One West) and Ryan Kearns (One West).  Good luck to you at Szeged, Hungary.

Anyone know if the open team will be racing at this years Rio tinto festival?  In the open race?

The list of participating crews at Alcan is up: http://dragonboatbc.ca/for-racers/participating-teams/ (http://dragonboatbc.ca/for-racers/participating-teams/)
And the answer is no.  The majority of Premier Open (as well as head coaches) are from Montreal and they will be coming over for Nationals in Victoria.  So if you're going to that, you'll be able to see what they're like and the style that they have.
