I run the youth program out of Dragonzone in Vancouver. Every year, DragonboatBC hosts a big event for hundreds of inner-city elementary school children, free of charge for them. We require the help of lots of volunteers, either for coaching or steering, to run it. You would get a free hot dog and drink, but the rewards of helping out inner city children in our community is really what keeps our volunteers coming back. Please email me at amanda@dragonboatbc.ca if you could coach or steer. We can run a quick orientation for new staff members, and you would also have the opportunity to join our coaching/steering roster for future (paid) events.
