Title: Want steering experience? Post by: dragonhearts.beat on August 06, 2011, 11:14:44 PM Dragon Hearts Beat is practicing in Creekside, Vancouver on Tuesdays and Thursdays up to September 15th. We are looking for a non-racing steers (Not racing for this year at least. Maybe you can steer for us next year.) for our second boat, a small 10-person boat. Our Tuesdays have larger turnouts than Thursdays.
We launch our boats at 7:30PM. The team meets at 6:45PM for warm-ups. It's best to meet us between those times to talk to our coach about the night's plans. We welcome all experience levels as long as you know the basics: - parking and un-parking - knowing the right of way - making tight enough turns - when necessary, being assertive enough to take command of the boat away from the coach For everything else, our other steersperson would be happy to teach.
