Title: Clothing for winter paddling Post by: Flint on December 30, 2010, 10:20:53 AM More specifically, what do you use for a waterproof jacket?
What do you like about it, what don't you like about it? I do just fine with two layers top (three including lifejacket- they do make a difference!) and two bottom. A windbreaker is always helpful for the wind and rain but generally waterproofing isn't necessary except for wet days.

Title: Re: Clothing for winter paddling Post by: NFW on January 15, 2011, 05:38:29 PM Unless its raining more than 20-30 mm, waterproof jacket's not really necessary. (if its heavy rain, it keeps the water and cold out, keeps the warmth in)
Generally though, the only times you'll be cold is before the paddling and about 5-10 min after paddling as you warm up pretty quick during. |
