Dragon Boat West

While the majority of the coast was in Victoria, there were 6 BC teams paddling their hearts out in Banff this weekend.  Congrats to "Got Pho?" (Saw them at Alcan) for winning the A Div.  Thumbs up to my team, Spirit of Vancouver GHFC (Some Gung Haggis, Flight Centre, and other assortments), for getting a silver in a tight final in our div.  The Kelowna teams paddled hard as well with "Tip Em Back" winning the B Div and "Lift Whats Draggin" winning their Div.  Full results can be found here:

Overall we had a good experience.  The lake is beautiful and the weather was perfect.  Thanks to all the volunteers as usual.  The races were on time which is always appreciated.  The spirit of the teams was great.  Thanks to "Fire on Water" for allowing us to warm up with them even though they were in our semi.

Its a great little festival and its nice to see the level of competition getting stronger every year.
