Title: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: LARDCore on October 08, 2009, 08:34:53 AM Paddling knowledge is relatively limited in my neck of the woods. Anyone out there know of any good paddling clinics coming up in the next few months? (dragon boat preferred, but outrigger OK)

Post by: magicpaddler on October 08, 2009, 12:08:03 PM Waters Edge and/or Right Angle Performance(Kamini http://www.rightangleperformance.com) will come to you and do clinics if you have enough people interested. I know BAD in SF has had them come to them to do clinics. May be more cost effective. You could also probably talk Ryan Pogue into going down and doing a clinic for your team as well.
Lots of options Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: LARDCore on October 08, 2009, 03:56:00 PM Thanks, guys!
Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: James Cole on October 12, 2009, 08:38:48 AM Given you're in SoCal - the Water's Edge clinic in Arizona might be a good option.
I've done it - it's a great jumpstart to the season. Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: LARDCore on October 12, 2009, 12:32:06 PM Yup, we have HPC but that is more for the fitness side of things.
Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: NFW on October 12, 2009, 11:01:12 PM Ah I see. If you guys can afford it, the Hawaii camps looks like a lot of fun (and educational)
I'm sure it'd also be very helpful if you receive instructions from Kamini, to get a chance to learn the FCRCC's technique lol Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: mandachan on October 14, 2009, 12:36:00 AM Kam holds small boat sessions in OC1's. I had one today and I found it quite helpful. She mentions the things to do differently on dragonboat, and techniques specific to OC. She's great on detail. I'm not sure if it's much help, considering it's 5 sessions spread out once a week. But local people might like it!

Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: brainiac on October 15, 2009, 09:21:44 PM The OC1 sessions you guys are talking about are part of FCRCC's "small boats" clinics. You have to be a club member to sign up for one. The ones coached by Kamini are for advanced paddlers with a fair amount of OC1 experience.
Title: Re: Any Good Paddling Clinics Out There? Post by: mandachan on October 19, 2009, 08:45:58 AM Sorry - I didn't know it was only for FCRCC members. I thought it was open to anyone. :?
